Catching Fish In INSANE Conditions! - Georges River Fishing

How I fish (tips and techniques) in strong winds with soft plastic lures when no one else will fish. I catch flathead and bream in seemingly unfishable conditions at a highly pressured spot on the #Georges #River using light line #fishing gear. G'day guys! Today was no ordinary day with 40km/h winds and higher. It would not be a time to whip out the ultra light gear using soft plastics on 1/16oz jigheads. Normally it is a time do something else like stay home and clean up the tackle box and go through the lures but sometimes the itch to fish is so strong that we find ourselves on the river at this nonideal time. In this video, I catch flathead and bream with a few tips and techniques that I have learnt simply by regularly being exposed to these kinds of conditions. Some of them include, fishing with or against the wind (helps line lay and bite detection); fishing sideways winds (lay line on water and keep line slack and watch for hits rather than feel); work lures close to the bottom of the water column and more regularly; Use lures that can be worked on the bottom; If snagged, how to unsnag with an effective technique.
