Catching really big perch redfin is so much fun. They fight much harder than many other species of similar size, they take a variety of baits both natural and artificial. Redfin perch will take bladed spinners, flies, hard body minnows such as in this video, soft plastics, wobblers and even small surface poppers. Personally, I find perch have a preference for soft plastic baits and hard body minnows such as the wildbait minnow. Catching redfin in a small stream is so much fun. It is one of my favourite forms of fishing. The problem is that the redfin are not there every season. Fore some reason the perch fishing is better some seasons than others.
