This Winter, Iran Danced is not a story of joy. It is a story of pain, resistance, and survival. It is the winter I lived through, watching my country move through blood, fear, and courage. What you see here is both memory and wound — loss, uprising, and voices that refused to stay silent. I told this story to my golden girls as a fable, the way parents tell The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats. Not to frighten them — but to protect them. To teach them how the world can be cruel, and why we must stay awake. “This is my attempt to be their voice.” This is not just history to me.
