Cycling EuroVelo 17 from The Alps to Avignon through Switzerland and France along the River Rhone.
Frank and Daphne, two retirees from Canada, are on a leisurely cycle tour following the River Rhone through Switzerland and France on EuroVelo 17. Having just ridden from the west coast of France to Basel, Switzerland, this section continues after a train ride from Basel to Andermatt. From here, we follow EV 17 as far as Avignon. This part of the ride took place in June 2019. The Swiss portion of this route follows Swiss national cycle Route 1, and the French section is also know as the Via Rhona. A heat wave at the end of June altered our plan slightly so the last part of the video after Avignon is a brief glimpse of our tour of Provence and beyond by car!
