For someone on the shorter side hopping on a bike that you can't flat foot could lead to you loosing your balance and dropping it very frequently. This could easily put a damper on any efforts to get into the lifestyle of motorcycling. I remember I originally wanted to purchase a bike that I thought I was really into, but the moment I got on it at the dealership I realized it literally wasn't the right fit for me. At the dealership they brought up the fact that many riders lower their bikes, but how much doing this affected the handling and comfort of the motorcycle. Not to mention this also was pretty costly.
