Oh To Be A Rebel

On Monday June 13th 2011, Don Murphy was in Satellite Studios, Ballincollig laying down tracks for his song ' Oh To Be A Rebel''. Tragically the following Thursday Don was involved in a fatal motor accident. With the great help of Tony Kirby the song was uncovered this week and Dons fellow band members in Natural Gas took on the task of finishing the song. It was a labour of love for our old friend and we were delighted Dons' son Graham agreed to sing a new verse to bring the song up to date. We also enlisted brilliant saxophone player Gary Baus whom Don had asked to play on the track. Don was a superb musician, singer, songwriter and an immensely proud Corkman. We in Natural Gas hope we have done justice to his song and perpetuate his memory for many years to come in Rebel Cork.
