ElectrogravityElectrogravity was quite thoroughly investigated by Thomas Townsend Brown in the period from 1927 to 1965. However, modern experiments with asymmetrical capacitors became widely known only in the 1990s under the topic named "Lifter".The idea of the experiments was to acquire asymmetric vector composition of forces. For example, a classic plane capacitor has plates that are attracted to each other, but their forces are contradirectional and their resultant equals zero.A T-shaped capacitor designed in 1984 had two eletrodes located in one plane. The resultant of their forces did not equal zero. Electrodes of a T-shaped capacitor are divided by a "dielectric wall". This helps to exclude electric breakdown along the minimum distance between the electrodes.Such electric field configuration creates codirectional electrostatic forces for both electrodes.However, it is important to note that such technology is too complicated to be commercially used as it employs high-voltage equipment. Some say that the most promising area is that of asymmetrical capacitors with a solid-state gradient dielectric.The design is quite complicated but calculations show that rated force will equal 80 tons at the area of 100 square metres and power supply of 10 kilovolts.
