Aloe species and hybrids: how I grow my little Aloe collection on a windowsill in England, UK

Aloe species and hybrids are definitely some of the easiest succulent houseplants to keep and indeed I have my own Aloe collection at home. These plants will thrive on a sunny windowsill, ideally with southern exposure if you live in the northern emisphere, and can be watered once every 2-4 weeks so they are great plants if you are often away from home, the most important is that the soil is very well drained as many of these plants tend otherwise to rot. Different species reach different sizes and considering that more than 500 species of Aloe are known, better do some research in order to ensure which are the best species or hybrids for your house. Unfortunately sometimes identification tags are not included in the plants that we buy so we have to figure out with time the final size of the Aloe purchased, however these plants do not tend to grow fast in my experience, therefore you have plenty of time for your research.
