Sometimes I think that a compilation should be judged on the good tracks, sometimes I think the opposite. "Electric Ohms", another Boom! records compilation, was spoilt for me by a couple of truly dismal tracks. Luckily, that is not the case here. There are excellent tracks from the usual suspects: Fractal Glider, Rastaliens and Chi AD are always worth hearing and the tracks here are no exception; the Rastaliens track is particularly moody and menacing - very good. The other tracks from newer artists are not quite in the same league, but they're all at least interesting. The Distortion Orchestra track is percussive and has a touch of prog - very nice, Quantum State give us epic synths and a hard unrelenting tech aspect, the Twisted Hobo and Transdriver tracks are sick workouts for the dance floor. The compilation gets a really good flow between all the tracks, so that they gel as a whole, a rare feat in compilations in my experience. The real point is that whilst they are not as outstanding, they contribute to the overall dusty outdoors Goa vibe that characterises the compilation as a whole.
