Chinese New Year is coming up! It’s gonna be the year of the Rat!🐁 年糕, Nian Gao, is commonly eaten during the new year as a snack and can be interpreted as meaning to have prosperity in the coming year. Nian Gao is a sticky-like rice cake made from glutinous rice flour. You don’t need much ingredients for it. It’s made of rice flour, sugar and water. You steam it and it’s ready the next day! Nian Gao is a sweet delicious dessert! You can kinda compare it to a mochi. Once prepared you serve it in thick slices. You can pan fry it or dip it in egg and pan fry it before eating it to make it more delicious!
