An update from my food forest and windbreak project in North Carolina

It’s been a long time since I checked in on our food forest and wind break project at the North Carolina site. I am happy to report that most of the trees and shrubs and other plants we put in the ground are doing well. At this point they really don’t need much from me. Maybe some mowing and pruning here and there. It’s really cool to see this planting take on a life of its own. It was a really powerful experience to be able to site in the shade of trees I planted. In many ways I’m sad to not be there more often but in other ways I’m really happy where I am in Virginia. It’s good to visit and I’m excited to take what I’ve learned with me as we begin to plant more trees in VA.
