FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) increases first, stimulating egg maturation and the production of estrogen, which in turn triggers a surge in LH (Luteinizing Hormone) from the pituitary gland, leading to ovulation and the subsequent rise in progesterone levels. Progesterone inhibits FSH and LH to prevent the maturation and release of multiple eggs. A mnemonic like "fabulous owls love parties" is suggested to help remember the sequence of hormone rise: FSH, estrogen, LH, and progesterone.
