Video Segmentation: 0:00 - Intro 0:16 - Failed Hunts Up in the Topi Valley, a lonesome male wild hound attempts to obtain a modestly sized meal, running into all kind of struggles like aggravating a flock of Anoras, Stumbling into a bush scaring away an eyebrowed mice in the process, and even trying his luck by considering stealing a fish from a nearby Ee'wuk hunting party; unfortunately for the persevering male, his attempts are unsuccessful. 1:03 - Sniffer Fowl hunt After reaching the grounds of a male Holfatherium, aka the Sniffer Beast, our male notices the lumbering giant is accompanied by a couple of Sniffer Fowl, these avians are commonly seen with the Holfatherium in both the open valleys and close woodland as their habit of digging out roots and seeds tends to flush out a wide array of invertebrates, the wild hound is successful at hunting one of the 2 fowl, finally obtaining a meal, although surprisingly, it does not eat it right away… 1:20 - The Lesser Whalbi herd By taking away his prize, the canid comes across a herd of Whalbis, these long necked herbivores are members of a fairly small family of artiodactyls, known as the “Whalbidae” which are mostly endemic to the ancient world; the herbivores seem to pay no attention to the rushing predator, opting for continuing their foraging activities. 1:45 - Feathered Hounds on the hunt Upon reaching a certain spot, the male wild hound spots a coalition of 3 Yaksonychus brothers, the Yaksonychus is a species of dromaeosaur that specialises in taking down prey larger than themselves, with males hunting in coalitions while females opt to hunt solo. Unfortunately for the Whalbi herd, this trio seems to have their eyes on them, alerted by the calls of a plains grackle, the herd flees the incoming danger. 2:55 - Going Home With the successful hunt of the raptors and the dangers of being stomped by a fleeing Whalbi gone, the hound proceeds to make a quick run to his den, where we find that he was looking for food for his mate and his recently born pups, after a brief meeting with his mate, the male takes off again in search of more food; as the male provides food relentlessly for his family, trying to ensure the pups have a good start and grow healthy so that their mother can begin hunting as soon as they're ready to be left alone. 3:20 - Thanks for watching Regular Wildlife!
