In recent global conflicts, wars are often justified in the name of higher ideals — democracy, security, or even human rights. Increasingly, another narrative has entered this discourse: the claim that military intervention is necessary for the protection or liberation of women. But can war truly be fought in the name of feminism? In this video, we examine an important question raised in international political debate. Spanish politician Manuela Bergado questioned whether bombing a country in the name of protecting women can ever be morally consistent — especially when civilians, including women and children, become victims of those same attacks. Philosopher Noam Chomsky has long argued that wars are frequently presented through the language of noble ideals. When feminism becomes part of that narrative, it raises deeper ethical and political questions. True feminism, at its core, stands for dignity, equality, and the protection of life. When violence and war are justified in its name, it creates a troubling contradiction. This video reflects on that contradiction and asks a simple but difficult question: Can violence ever be a path to women’s freedom?
