Azure Application Gateways and Application Load Balancers allow you to accept incoming traffic and then route that traffic based on ip and port and HTTP request attributes. Often times you'll have an Application Gateway or Load Balancer that sits in front of a set of virtual machines. In this tutorial we'll discuss the differences between an Application Gateway and a Application Load Balancer. We'll create an Application Gateway, set up a public IP, attach an existing subnet and create a backend pool, set up routing rules.
