They can add strength to a piece. Remember, bridges and ship were built with them. But, they can also add an amazing texture or punctuation to your design. Ball rivets are secured by balling one end of a wire, inserting the wire through the pieces of the design, and then balling the other end of the wire. The most symmetrical looking result are achieved by using fine silver for the rivets. The shape of the balls can be easily altered by simply hitting them squarely with a hammer.
