Dr. Christakis also speaks Spanish and enjoys connecting with families in their preferred language to help every parent feel understood and supported. Dr. Christakis comes from a family of physicians; her grandfather, uncle, and father all practiced medicine, and she shares how watching her father come home each day filled with joy and purpose inspired her own path into pediatrics. Today, her favorite part of the work is sharing in families’ joy, watching babies grow into thriving kids, and seeing parents feel confident and cared for along the way. She also speaks powerfully about the idea of “the village.” In a world where many families feel more isolated than ever, Dr. Christakis wants the pediatrician’s office to be a place you can lean on.
