Meet Osage! | Farmer Derek's Bald Eagles Harvey & Ellie (3/5–3/6)

Exciting news from the Kansas nest of Harvey & Ellie - their first eaglet of the season has arrived! Just after midnight on March 6, Ellie welcomed a tiny new hatchling named Osage, a name chosen by Farmer Derek’s daughter to honor the Osage Nation. As the sun began to rise, Ellie made her joyful announcement, calling Harvey back to the nest tree. A couple of hours later, the proud dad finally got his first look at baby Osage. This video highlights Osage’s first day in the world, including those precious early feedings and the tender “getting to know you” moments as mom, dad, and baby begin their journey together as a family. From curious peeks to careful feedings, it’s a beautiful start for this little eaglet and a wonderful new chapter for the nest. Update: Since this video was created, the second eaglet has also hatched! That exciting moment will be coming soon.
