Ford Focus came in with a rough idle and poor engine performance with a MIL engine management light on the dash. A fault code of P0118 was found with a description of “Engine Coolant temperature sensor circuit high” My first assumption was a fault sensor which was replaced however upon diagnosis the reading was still at a max of 215c. However during the sensor replacement I spotted damaged looking wires which turned out to be the culprit causing the faulty reading. Once both were fixed the car ran like new and had plenty of power ! The diagnostic device which was used over Bluetooth and connected to my phone can be found on my site ckptronics.com
