ChatGPT just built a DCF model for me and I am blown away. Watch this video to see how it did it. (please subscribe if you like it). Link to the Excel ChatGPT file and solution: https://www.wallstreetprep.com/access... What You'll see: ➡ [0:00-2:00] I created an Excel file with a few basic assumptions need to perform a DCF valuation ➡ [2:00-2:30] I uploaded the Excel file to ChatGPT and prompt it to perform the valuation analysis. ➡ [2:30-4:00] ChatGPT goes to town on my Excel file. It gets the right answer. ➡ [4:00-6:40] Some takeaways 🔔 A Few Predictions ChatGPT vs Investment Banking Analysts Once investment banks figure out how to roll out ChatGPT internally in a way that keeps data secure, ChatGPT will very quickly replace much of the work Analysts currently do. That doesn't mean Analysts will not be needed any more - they'll just be doing higher level work (see below) Financial Modeling in Investment Banking Slowly, more and more financial analysis analysts currently do will be done by ChatGPT. Eventually, Analysts will not be building any financial models. They'll instead be guiding ChatGPT, it will do all the work, and analysts will then "tweak." Slide and Pitchbook Creation in Investment Banking Analysts will no longer be building slides, they'll be directing ChatGPT to build them. Again, Analysts will then "tweak." Analyst Productivity Analysts will become significantly more productive. Menial number crunching, formatting, and slide creation currently represents a huge part of what Analysts do. As ChatGPT gets better, Analyst work will start to look much more like that of today's Associates. Future Good Analysts vs. Bad Analysts Analysts whose core strengths are being good at Excel and PowerPoint will be relatively less valued than today. Key traits that will become even more valued than they are today will be: 1. Ability to see the big picture 2. Understanding how to avoid "garbage in / garbage out" 3. Understanding businesses and industries 4. Interpersonal and communication skills 5. Project management skills We hope you like it (please subscribe if you do).
