Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at how the INNO Wedge Plus roof mounted cargo care fits on the 2017 Kia Forte 5. The Kia Forte 5 is a fun little car with a lot of personality, and if you wanna use this for different types of adventures, definitely an option. What if you wanna carry around your skis and snowboards You're hitting the slopes or maybe you want to go and catch some waves and you have some smaller surfboards. The INNO Wedge Plus is the rooftop box to get that done. Now it can't carry all types of cargo. You are limited in terms of height, but depending on your adventures, this might be the right fit for you. So this car has a naked roof which means you need to get a roof rack system added to it. We have the Rhino-Rack roof rack system here with the vortex bars, and for crossbar spread, it sits at 30 inches apart. You cannot move your crossbars. So for your different brands, you may have a different crossbar spread. The good news is this roof box has a track for the clamps and pretty much any crossbar spread, it's gonna work for your car. So where we put our box, I have it offset to passenger side and I have it pushed back a little. So see how it's touching that antenna You can take the antenna if you want. You can even move the box forward a little if you want to. I thought this just was sitting really well on our car. And you can even open up your hatch with no clearance issues. With this being an 80 inches long, you might be concerned because it does come over here where our front windshield is, but here in the front seats, driver and passenger I can't see the roof box. I really like making roof box videos on cars like these because they're closer to the ground and they're easier to reach. So that's the perks of your car with any roof box. When you want to open it up, you just come over here. You do get two keys. Unlock the lock, press that button, and now you can just lift up on that lid. I actually did a full review on this roof box. If you wanna check out the in-depth measurements, dimensions, things like that. Also what types of cargo can be put in there, check out that full review. We are just focusing on the car here right now. So speaking of weight capacity, for your smaller sedans like this, you are limited to your actual roof weight capacity. So this box can carry up to 110 pounds, but the box also weighs 44 pounds. So add the weight of your cargo, add the weight of the box, and make sure that's not too much for your crossbar system or your car. I really like the memory mount clamps on this box. You have the anchor points on those clamps, strong and sturdy, but then you also have this latch here. So just lift that up, the clamps open, you can adjust the tension here. And once you've got your box on your roof and you need to secure it, just bring this back down. Clamp secure. So a good rule of thumb for figuring out whether it's gonna fit inside your roof box is if it will fit through this lid opening. So that opening is about 12 inches tall and the box is actually around 13 3/4 inches tall. So where it gets a little closer, that's gonna be about 12 inches. So you can see here why you wouldn't be able to fit your larger or taller suitcases and luggage. It really is mainly for skis, snowboards, and surfboards. This is dual access, meaning you can access it on the passenger side or on the driver's side. Some people like to center their box on the roof to make it easy to access both ways. I personally like to offset it over to one side just if I wanna add other accessories up here. So here with our box, make sure to take those measurements. We do have exterior dimensions. And for example here from the end of the box to the end of our roof rack, it's gonna be about 15 inches of space. Don't forget that when you open up that lid it will add another two inches that it takes up. So be careful with that, especially with the bike up here. So my personal thoughts about our roof box here is that the INNO Wedge Plus is super sleek, super streamlined, but you are limited to what types of cargo you can carry. So if you are hitting the slopes or trying to catch waves, this will be a great option for you especially for your bulkier and longer items. If you are looking for a roof box that gives you a bit more height instead of length, but you like that small cubic feet it takes up, then maybe something to check
