Worcester Shakespeare Express 2024 What I was expecting to be 7029, was actually 5043. We start with a blitz up the lickey, unfortunately the 47 on the back was opening up a little bit but I’m guessing only to remove its own weight from the train, great sound as she climbs Britains steepest mainline bank, 1 in 37.7. I was tempted to chase it, as it stopped in Birmingham new street for 29 minutes before continuing to Stratford, but didn’t think it would be worth the effort, so we head to Hatton bank, for the Stratford - Birm Shakespeare express, with great sound from both engines up the bank. We made a frog leap to claverdon for the return of that Shakespeare, expecting it to be the 47 leading, but was actually the tender first earl! Nice shot of her whistling past. Finally some great sound through jewellery quarter tunnels. Enjoy!
