Will President Donald Trump set Sean "Diddy" Combs free? Not so fast. The White House shut down a new report that Trump may be just days away from pardoning the incarcerated hip-hop mogul. Despite a TMZ story published Oct. 21 that cited claims from an anonymous high-ranking official that the president is "vacillating" on potential clemency for Combs, who is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence, the Trump administration told NBC News otherwise. "There is zero truth to the TMZ report, which we would’ve gladly explained had they reached out before running their fake news," the White House statement read. "The President, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations." TMZ doubled down in their own statement, however, telling NBC News that they "stand by" their story. Lawyers for Combs have not publicly responded to the latest development, but one of his defense attorneys previously told CNN that counsel had reached out to the administration about a possible pardon. Trump himself has also spoken out on the topic, telling Newsmax in August how his personal relationship with the Bad Boy Records was impacting his decision. "You know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great and seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well," Trump said at the time. "But when I ran for office, he was very hostile." Trump and Combs have been photographed together multiple times over the years, and Combs told the Washington Post during Trump's first Oval Office bid in 2015 that the pair were friends. He later spoke out against him during Trump's failed re-election campaign, though, saying in a 2021 interview with Revolt why he was so strongly against the president winning another term. In July, Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a high-profile trial that also saw him acquitted of more serious charges including sex trafficking. He had pleaded not guilty. » SUBSCRIBE: / @accesshollywood » Visit Our Website: http://accessonline.com Get More Access : Facebook: / accesshollywood Twitter: / accesshollywood Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/accessholly...
