Just my thoughts on the definition of VSOs, the signs that you have one, why beginners should avoid VSOs, the benefits of investing in a decent beginner violin, and other miscellaneous thoughts on the topic. People can have differing experiences with VSOs and its important to listen to everyone's stories about them. As I said in the video, the general consensus is that a VSO is a violin that is sold on Amazon or Ebay (not from a local store, or reputable online distributer). I encourage everyone to do their own research on this topic. When I started this channel, I posted videos on both highland dance and violin, hence the name "HighlandViolinist". But, as I progressed through university, I became more involved in music technology, interactive computer music performance (with Max MSP), and constructing new Digital Musical Instruments (DMIs) with Arduinos and sensors. As I evolved as an artist and academic researcher, so has my YouTube channel. Instead of having multiple channels for each topic, I have this one channel that has a little bit of everything that I enjoy and I have organized my videos into playlists based on the topic. If you like violin, but not technology, or like technology, but not dancing, that is ok! Please subscribe and enjoy the videos that pertain to your interests!
