Boston AES and IATSE Local 481 have teamed up to bring you this great tour of Soundtrack followed by a discussion with professionals who work in all aspects of sound for picture. Kelly Doran works as a Boom Operator and Utility Sound Technician for feature films, television, and commercials. Kelly has a BFA from Berklee College of Music as well as an Associates Degree in Video & Radio Production from New England Tech (in a pre-digital engineering era). Kelly’s love of music brought her to a job in production sound. Her most recent jobs were The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, directed by the Coen brothers with Peter Kurland mixing; and Glass, directed by M. Night Shyamalan with Jason Fyrberg mixing. Kelly has worked on award-winning films such as “Walk The Line”, “There Will Be Blood”, and “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Kelly is a longtime member of IATSE Local 481 and 695 and now also serves as Trustee to the Local 481. Kayleigh Ristuben is the Executive Producer at Soundtrack Boston, where she acts as the liaison between Soundtrack and numerous advertising and film clients, such as Arnold Worldwide, Mullen Lowe, Hill Holliday, Disney, Warner Brothers, Cartoon Network, and Sony. She began her career as an assistant stage manager for the Boston Opera Collaborative, OperaHub, and the Juventas Opera Project, before shifting towards audio post-production and sound design. Joining Soundtrack in 2015, her experience in sound and a passion for management catapulted her to her current position - where she is responsible for “making it happen” for a seven-room audio post-production facility. Jason Fyrberg: Jason Fyrberg is a production sound mixer and Emerson college alum. After getting his start in reality television in Los Angeles, Jason returned to Massachusetts thanks to a thriving local film market. Currently, Jason is a production sound mixer who works on feature films and commercials. His most recent work includes M. night Shyamaln’s “Glass”, Amy Schumer Comedy “I Feel Pretty”, Happy Madison’s “Who Do You Think Would Win” and Netflix’s “Wheelman”. Jason previously served as the Sound Department representative to the executive board of IATSE local 481 from 2012 - 2016. Brian McKeever: After joining Soundtrack in December 1992, Brian swiftly moved up the ranks, eventually taking over Studio E. In 1998 he left to do software product management at Cakewalk Music Software in Cambridge. However, after realizing how life can be dealing with software engineers, Brian returned to Soundtrack in June 1999 and is now enjoying life back in a creative and fun environment. Brian’s clients include Toyota, Merrill Lynch, Constant Contact, Mass Mutual, Baileys, Putnam and Salem Five Bank. Christopher Anderson One-time lobsterman, carpenter, mason, and bartender; part-time sculptor, full-time dad and mail-order minister (weddings a specialty!) who has managed to parlay all that glamor, skill and prestige into a career in sound, sound design, and music. Clients include documentary work for the acclaimed Frontline series, as well as Nova and American Experience on PBS, various shows for National Geographic, the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Learning Channel, bits and pieces for Discovery, Sci Fi Channel, HBO, Showtime, MTV, albums, independent and wide-release features (Detroit, American Hustle, The Finest Hours, Joy) and many other projects.
