The difference between the Rarest Drops and the Rarest Items lies in the name: A drop's rarity depends on the droprate, and how easily the circumstances in which the drop could be acquired can be provoked. A rare item, on the other hand, is usually a collector's item. An item that either no longer drops, is rarely seen in anyone's inventory or is exclusive content.
