Talk given on the 1st of May 2023 for the Algebra, Particles, and Quantum Theory seminar series. Organized by Nichol (Cohl) Furey, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin Abstract: In this talk I will discuss the results of the paper "Quantization, Dequantization, and Distinguished States" written in collaboration with Eli Hawkins and Christoph Minz. In this work we consider free quantum fields on a causal set and demonstrate how methods of geometric quantization can be applied in that case. We compare the result with the Sorkin-Johnson construction and demonstrate that both approaches single out the same quantum state. For more seminars go to https://furey.space
