How you apply blush is really up to you, there are no rules. Sure, i have my preferences, but nothing is written in stone. Its just makeup. Below is a list of the 5 ways to apply blush and the face shapes they are good for and not so good for: BLUSH ONE: HIGH ON THE CHEEK BONES GOOD FOR: Round faces, and those wanting to give the illusion that your cheeks bones are higher than they really are. Good for fuller faces. NOT SO GOOD FOR: Very Defined cheek bones as it can make the face appear too narrow. BLUSH TWO: APPLE OF THE CHEEKS GOOD FOR: Thin faces, and those wanting to increase volume in the face. NOT SO GOOD FOR: Very found faces, and it can make the face look rounder. Also, those will fine lines or wrinkles as smiling causes the face to "line" and can make blusher (powder) go into the fine lines. Blusher to the apples of the cheeks is a technique known in film and theatre to "age" a person. BLUSH THREE: HORIZONTAL LINES GOOD FOR: Thin faces wanting to increase volume in the face. Also good for those with tanned skin. NOT SO GOOD FOR: Those with very pronounced cheek bones. BLUSH FOUR: CHEEK BONES & TEMPTLES GOOD FOR: Lifting the face and giving the illusion of higher cheek bones. My favourite way of applying blush. Great with a fake or real tan. Good for fuller faces. NOT SO GOOD FOR: Very defined cheek bones as it can over "thin" the face. BLUSH FIVE: VERTICAL BLUSH GOOD FOR: Good for fuller faces. Great for a natural flushed appearance. NOT SO GOOD FOR: Overly round faces as it can make the face appear rounder. At the end of the day, play around, see what looks best. See what looks prettiest. And have fun.
