JASCO Acoustic Monitoring for Slocum Gliders - Teledyne Webinar

JASCO Applied Sciences and Teledyne Webb Research (TWR) have collaborated to develop near real-time Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) aboard TWR's Slocum glider using JASCO's OceanObserver intelligent monitoring system. This video describes the unique capabilities of the Observer aboard the Slocum, which were demonstrated in Canada's Gulf of St Lawrence in 2018 searching for North Atlantic right whales. The Observer payload is also applicable to other Teledyne platforms and can be integrated with many Teledyne sensors. JASCO’s ongoing development work with TWR, Reson, and ODI are also mentioned. This talk will be of interest to those involved in mitigating the effects of underwater noise on marine environments, underwater acoustics, anti-submarine warfare, or the use of Slocum gliders.
