Sponge city for 2050 | Tianchi Jiang | TEDxWuxiBigBridgeAcademy

Thought human evolution, cities have evolved only in the last four thousand years. Therefore, cities in the future will face challenges such as insufficient energy, environmental pollution, and ecological fragility. Fortunately, sponge cities provide effective solutions. Today, I’ll introduce this new concept, sponge city, and how it benefits all of us. This is an exciting time, not just because of the emergence of the Internet and the possibility of humans migrating to Mars. We've pulled out some of our favourite ideas about the 2050. This is an open-ended topic, and we hope that everyone's collision of ideas can gain even a little insight. Thirty years later, which things have grown from nothing, and which things have grown from nothing. For example, some things that we think we are used to, are actually not needed in future urban life. The barrier poles of the parking lot, the traffic lights at the crossroads, the green belts on the lanes, various payment cards, etc. This is also the most challenging era. Urban development issues, disease issues, and environmental issues have left many problems in the future. The world naturally leaves the challenges of the future to young people. If young people are given a choice, they will choose to stay on the earth and make the earth a better place instead of emigrating to Mars, because the former is more challenging. Going to Mars is only one option for young people to travel abroad. Only young people can make such a choice. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
