Restoration of a 1950s powder compact. Stratton Compacts were made in Birmingham, England for some time from 1920-1997. During WW2 they stopped production of compacts to help in the war efforts. I looked into vintage compacts after going through my makeup and noticing how much I hated the packaging. And how much I hated the gross names of the products i.e. "ManEater" or "Better than S*x". After showing my grandmother my first vintage compact she told me about her grandmother Zola who had a little brass compact that "made her feel like a million bucks". My Grandmother never got to own a nice brass compact. So this restoration project is for her. I want my Mamaw to "feel like a million bucks" just like I do when I fill my vintage compacts with refills. To Refill Stratton Compacts: You will need Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder pans. In America you can find them at most drug stores. Pans are 67mm wide and 4mm deep I will say these pans are DURABLE and thick metal. Great for adding your favorite other brands to press yourself. I will make a separate video on depotting Rimmel pans and taking too faced highlighter to press myself with bio oil and alcohol.
