Epidemiology underpins everything we do in public health and global health. Epidemiology is more than just research methods and qualitative and quantitative study design. Its about understanding the distribution of states of health and the exposures that cause them. And its about causation. Epidemiology is about population health, outbreaks, pandemics, epidemics.
