Brake Pads Pre-Pressing Production Technology https://bullbrakes.com Email: [email protected] Mobile/Wechat/Whatsapp: 0086-15958025969 ---------------------------------- Today, we are going to talk about the room-temperature pre-pressing process in brake pad production. This process roughly emerged in the 1920s of the 20th century, with a history of about 100 years to date. Currently, many factories around the world still adopt this traditional process to produce brake pads. Now, we will introduce the advantages and disadvantages of this process through this video. https://bullbrakes.com/product-catego... In comparison with the currently prevalent one-step hot pressing production process, the room-temperature pre-pressing process still requires the product to be placed into a heated mold for re-pressing, and thus it is termed the "pre-pressing process". This process necessitates two distinct types of presses: one designed for room-temperature operation and another equipped with heating functionality, as well as two corresponding sets of molds—a room-temperature pre-pressing mold and a hot-pressing mold with heating capability. During actual production, a time interval exists between the completion of room-temperature pre-pressing and the subsequent hot-pressing stage. Owing to the fact that the pre-pressed block has not undergone heating and curing, it tends to rebound and loosen within this interval. Consequently, the cavity of the room-temperature pre-pressing mold must be smaller than that of the hot-pressing mold; the unilateral reduction is generally controlled within the range of 3 to 5 millimeters, depending on the specific formula and the dimensions of the product. https://bullbrakes.com/product/brake-... As the room-temperature pre-pressing process does not require heating and curing, its pressing cycle is relatively short, enabling high production efficiency. Nevertheless, dust contamination remains an unavoidable challenge in the brake pad production process. As observed in the video, all workers are equipped with specialized dust-proof masks. The room-temperature pre-pressing process is particularly prone to severe dust issues, especially in scenarios where raw materials are weighed and fed entirely through manual operations. It is noted from the video that volumetric quantitative feeding is adopted instead of a weighing machine for material dosing. This approach gives rise to relatively large errors, which in turn lead to significant deviations in the density of brake pads following the subsequent hot pressing and curing procedures. https://bullbrakes.com/product/brake-... For the production of high-quality brake pads, we recommend high-precision electronic weighing systems—and ideally, fully automated workflows integrating material weighing, feeding, and pressing. This solution effectively minimizes variations in material dosing, mitigates workshop dust pollution, and lowers potential occupational risks to workers. To implement this approach, we recommend BULL BRAKES’ fully automatic pre-pressing machine (Model: BL-PFP-A35T).
