My two dogs were watching over me and I didn't want to die in front of them," In the last eight years four people have died in Piers Gill and about 40 rescued, with many walkers suffering serious injuries. Wasdale Head is a small hamlet in the Lake District National Park. It is located at the “head” of the valley of Wasdale, and is surrounded by some of England’s highest mountains: Scafell Pike, Sca Fell, Great Gable, Kirk Fell and Pillar. Piers Gill is a ‘canyonʼ descent with several short pitches and one longer one; and no place for a Fell Walker do not attempt to walk down the bed of the stream!! It is not possible to ascend the stream bed nor is there a path on the west side do not attempt a route here.  Lingmell is a fell in the Lake District, standing above the village of Wasdale Head.
