We will spend the rest of the day in Canyon TX where we will spend the rest of the day trackside after catching a couple more in Amarillo. What really makes me impressed is the engine configurations on some of these trains. Most of the intermodal trains have 4-5 engines and a combined stack/oil train 4x2x1 engine configuration. Compared to Union Pacific, BNSF really knows how to put power on their heaviest trains to conquer the grades of the west. That evening in Canyon the trains let loose after the trackwork as complete west of Canyon as BNSF was replacing the rail. A ton of action is seen. Enjoy! The weather was a bit windy on this day, but nothing like it was when I visited here in 2023. In fact with the tornadoes Michigan got, I would argue that it was more windy back home than out here.
