DIY: How to sew an EASY dog shirt without professional sewing skills/UPDATED FREE PATTERN 2023

Let's sew an easy dog shirt with an updated free pattern. This is perfect for beginners, you don't need any professional sewing skills or any professional machinery. You only need a simple sewing machine and some fabric! I used fleece for this project, which turned out super cute for my dog. I chose to not finish the seams. because most people don't have a serger machine, but if you have one, you can finish the seams to a more professional look! --------------------- Materials needed: Fabric of your choice ( fleece work well) Measuring tape Scissors Thread Sewing machine or needle and thread (if hand-sewing) A dog shirt pattern (you can find a free, updated pattern, link is down below) ------------------- Instructions: Measure your dog's chest and back length to determine the size of the shirt you will need to make. Print out or trace the dog shirt pattern onto your fabric. Cut out the fabric pieces according to the pattern. Pin the fabric pieces together, right sides facing each other. Sew around the edges of the shirt, leaving an opening for the dog's head, paws and bottom. Turn the shirt right side out and press with an iron. Topstitch around the edges of the shirt for a cleaner finish. Try the shirt on your dog to ensure a good fit, and make any necessary adjustments. Note: If you're not comfortable with using a sewing machine or don't have one, you can hand-sew the shirt using a needle and thread. And that's it! Your dog now has a brand-new shirt.
