Workshop: Prep time strategies with Sharmila Parmanand and Lucia Arce - Balkan Debate Academy 2019

Coaches: Sharmila Parmanand, who will also be a CA for Athens EUDC 2019, is easily one of the most experienced CAs in the world. She was the CA of Berlin WUDC 2013, a two-time DCA of Australs, and has been on the A team of over 70 University competitions. But her credentials don’t end there. She has judged the Open Grand Finals of WUDC twice, and the Grand Final of Australs three times. And she’s also an amazing speaker - amongst other things, she is also a three-time Champion of Asians, and a Grand Finalist of Australs. And did we mention she has an amazing track-record as a trainer? She’s delivered workshops in more than 30 countries. Lucía Arce is the double best speaker in Europe, having topped both the Open and ESL tabs at Novi Sad EUDC 2018. She is the 2018 Worlds Masters Champion, as well as the winner and/or best speaker of 12 other competitions - including Glasgow Ancients, Belgrade Open and the Newcastle IV. She has featured in 17 other finals and been a top 10 open speaker and semifinalist at the Oxford IV. She has been on the CA team of over 30 competitions, including the Cambridge and Lund IVs, Oxford Women’s, Newcastle Mixed Doubles, and the Istanbul and Prague Opens. She has judged the ESL semifinals at Mexico WUDC, ESL finals and open finals at the Cambridge IV, and chaired the open final at Leiden Open and China BP.
