Join the Moscati Medical Club: https://www.moscatimedicalclub.com/jo... Giuseppe Moscati was born on July 25, 1880 at Benevento, Italy. He was the seventh of nine children. The greatest Italian doctor to have ever lived. HIS LIFE: Although born in a wealthy family, unlike his high-class colleagues, he chose to practice medicine in hospitals over private practice. One of the hospitals he worked in was the hospital for incurables; "Ospedale degli incurabili" in Italian. Giuseppe Moscati was a compassionate doctor, with a big heart, and treating people was always his main duty. Moscati's acts of kindness and self-sacrifice were reflected in the eyes of all his patients. But Moscati took it a step further... There was a rule in Italian hospitals that a doctor could spend a maximum of 7 minutes with each of his/her patients per day. Moscati went over-time each day and with some of his most ill patients, he stayed overnight. He spent many sleepless nights doing research - with the hope he could change the lives of his patients. He became one with the most ill of patients, brought hope to the hopeless, and endlessly strived to make them feel happy and loved. Giuseppe spent all of his inheritance helping the poor. He prescribed them medicine and treated without any costs. He also placed banknotes into their prescriptions. He was offered of "head professor" at the medical university (the most honourable job), which he politely refused and passed over to his good friend. He knew that people in the hospital needed him more... He began accepting patients at his house and it eventually became empty as he sold all of his furniture, paintings, belongings to help his poor patients. Meanwhile, his own well-being began to show weakness. Giuseppe Moscati passed away peacefully on April 12, 1927 in Naples, Italy. Moscati was canonized by Pope John Paul II on October 25, 1987 and became the first doctor to be a saint. His feast day is November 16th.
