Welcome along to another BMW E39 M5 DIY how to video guide. Today we are creating a big brake kit conversion for the rear of the M5 track car. This video is a bit more in-depth as it required machining and manufacturing of some parts in the workshop. But we show you how to do it. Total outlay for this kit, including new brake pads and consumables was £400. Well worth looking at if you don't want to spend over £1k on a big brake kit for the rear. The discs we used are from a BMW F07 5 series GT with the 550i model designation. The calipers are Brembo 4 pots which are standard equipment on Porsche 986/987/996. The pads are EBC yellow stuff pads. A point to note, this conversion will not fit behind the standard OEM style 65 wheels as there isn't enough radial clearance to accommodate the brake calipers.
