The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in collaboration with MyGov invites creative individuals to design a logo that embodies the vision, purpose and impact of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY). India is at the forefront of the global clean energy transition, driven by its ambitious climate commitments and visionary policies. With abundant solar resources and a strong manufacturing ecosystem, the nation is rapidly progressing toward a more sustainable, self-reliant future. The PMSG scheme was launched on 13th February, 2024 with a target of installing rooftop solar systems in 1 crore households by 2026-27 supported by subsidies of up to ₹78,000 per system and an overall outlay of Rs 75,021 crores. The program integrates user-friendly digital processes for applications and subsidies via a dedicated portal, www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in, and offers low-interest loans. Aligned with the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" vision, it is expected to generate domestic demand for 30 GW of solar cells and modules, boosting renewable manufacturing capabilities.
