Vismaya's family has alleged torture and harassment by her husband, Kiran Kumar over dowry. Highlighting repeated torture from Kumar's family, Vismaya's kin alleged that Vismaya was beaten, mistreated and tortured in her in-law's house. Vismaya was beaten, dragged and stamped on her face. A day before the incident, Vismaya in her family whatsapp group shared photos of the wounds and marks of beatings on her body which she suffered during the recent severe physical torture from Kumar. Vismaya said she was dragged by her hair and stamped on the face over dowry. The harassment was especially over the car by Kumar who used to verbally abuse Vismaya's father, saying that he deserved more dowry. A day after Vismaya was found dead, the police arrested Kumar and charged him under section 304B of the Indian Penal Code dowry death. Journalist Atul Agrawal Robbed and assaulted on gunpoint- According to the social media post, journalist Atul Agrawal was in his Safari car when he was stopped by five men on motorcycles at 1 am. As the scribe lowered his window, one of the accused pulled a gun and asked him to hand over valuables. Atul was forced to give Rs 5000 cash after the accused attempted to choke Atul. Woman jumped off building with 10 year old son- The woman, Reshma Trenchil had recently lost her husband and in-laws to Covid-19. She was depressed about losing her husband and not being able to attend his funeral. Trenchil in her sucide note had alleged that her neighbours, who lived in the flat below her apartment, had made multiple complaints against her. Harassment by neighbours is one of the reasons behind the deaths but she has not made any specific allegations against them. The neighbours have been booked under IPC section 306 and 34 Sisters raped in crematorium by security personnel- Two security personnel have been arrested for allegedly raping two sisters in a crematorium in Delhi. An FIR has been lodged on the basis of the allegations by both the sisters. Man poses as army officer, cheats people- An offence has been lodged against a man who married a woman after falsely claiming to be an Army officer and also cheated several youths, including the woman’s brother, by accepting money from them under false assurances that they would be recruited into the Indian Army. He even issued fake joining letters to the youths. Some of the people cheated by him recently lodged a complaint. Stabbed for not printing name on wedding card- Sekhar and his brother Sarvesh were invited at a relative's wedding. But an argument broke out between the siblings and their relative as the names of all family elders were printed but Sekhar’s parent's names were missing. During the argument between the two groups, Sekhar and Sarvesh attacked with a knife. Yadgiri and Pratap suffered minor injuries while his other two relatives suffered stab injuries in the stomach and chest respectively. Hired contract killers to kill girlfriend's husband- Gulshan Kumar’s girlfriend got married to Sandeep Kumar, six months ago. After their marriage, Gulshan allegedly asked Sandeep to leave his wife and threatened to kill him. When he refused, he hired a contract killer for Rs 1 lakh to kill him.
