…in which I chance my luck again, reviewing the budget Chinese film Lucky SHD 100. This was my stock of choice when I returned to analogue in 2014 but was too cheap to shell out for the good stuff. The quality control was horrible and mercifully seemed to disappear from the shelves for a while.. But now it’s back. This is the ‘new’ version of a film that was called New back in 2014. This version promises good sharpness, moderate contrast, fine grain, and 'forgiveness'. But am I prepared to forgive Lucky for the atrocities it wreaked on my former forays into film or is this stock way past redemption? Too scared to risk it on those important life moments, I take it out for a spin around the local Perth suburbs.
