Douglas State Forest-Wallum Lake Hike

We went for a hike on a warm spring day during the Coronavirus 2020. We wanted to hike the Cedar Swamp Trail, but we weren't sure of the location. The Wallum Lake area is filled with trails, which includes the SNETT (Southern New England Trunkline Trail) and the Mid State Trail. Eventually, we found the trail and it was worth the effort. There was a small up hill hike a the start, and the trail through the swamp is well maintained. It is filled with Cedar trees. Because it's a swamp, I could see this area getting loaded with bugs in the warmer months. The park is great! There is a boat ramp, beach, bathrooms, nature building, etc. They do charge for parking during the warmer months.
