Forth & Clyde Canal- Clydebank to Glasgow City Centre with Inverclyde Ramblers 4/2/23

We started off from Clydebank Shopping Centre on our way to Glasgow City Centre (Cowcaddans) a distance of some 8 miles along the towpath of the Forth and Clyde canal. The weather was overcast with a cool breeze It was a very sociable walk and a great opportunity to have a good old natter about walks past and future. we passed several canal locks before arriving at lock 27 where we stopped at the pub & restaurant and had a refreshment before setting off again along the canal we spotted quite a lot of birds by the canal from Ducks and swans to Water hens and also Comorants by the river Kelvin and one solitary Heron we passed over the river Kelvin on the stone aquaduct of the canal then round by the Maryhill locks and basin as we made our way round towards the new Stockingfield bridge which was a quite impressive modern structure where we stopped here to admire it then it was onwards towards the city center we left the canal just a couple of hundred yards short of Spiers Wharf then it was down through the city for our transport home, all in all, it was a very enjoyable social walk.
