How To Make Braised Mackerel with Radish (고등어무조림)

In this video, I'm going to show you how to make Braised Mackerel with Radish known as “godeungeo-mujorim" (고등어무조림). Enjoy! What You Need To Make "Braised Mackerel with Radish": 1. Pot 2. Mixer 3. Stove 4. Knife w/ Cutting Board 5. Bowl Ingredients For Braised Mackerel with Radish: 1.Mackerel 2-3 Filets 2. Radish (300g) 3. Onion (200-300g) 4. Green Onion (50g) or 3 Stalks Special Sauce Ingredients For "Braised Mackerel with Radish": 1. Ginger (30g) 2. Garlic (50 grams or 5-6 pieces) 3. Korean Red Pepper Powder (3 Tablespoons) - https://amzn.to/2L0DVjN 4. Korean Plum Extract (1-3 Tablespoons) - https://amzn.to/2ZwcqX8 5. Soy Sauce (4 Tablespoons) 6. Korean Bean Paste (DoenJang) 1 Tablespoon - https://amzn.to/327MXkA 7. White Wine (2-3 Tablespoons) 8. Black Pepper Powder (optional) Steps In Creating The "Special Sauce" 1. Mix the Garlic and Ginger into a mixer until it becomes a liquid-like form. 2. Add 3 tablespoons of Korean Red Pepper Powder Into the mix. 3. Add 4 tablespoons of Soy Sauce 4. Add 2-3 tablespoons of White Wine! 5. Add 3 tablespoons of Korean Plum Extract (you can substitute this with sugar) 6. Add 1 tablespoon of Korean Bean Paste into the mix. 7. Stir thoroughly until everything is evenly distributed. The Rest of The Steps: 1. Cut your Radish into small bit sizes. You can personalize the size to be small or big. 2. Cut your onions into thin strips. 3. Cut your green onions into small pieces. 4. Wash your mackerel filet and dry them with paper towel. 5. Cut your filet into 3 pieces evenly with each of the filet. 6. Next, starting with the radish, place the pieces into the pots and then the mackerel on top. 7. Pour your Special Sauce on top of the mackerel and the radish. 8. Add about 1 and 1/2 cup of water into the pot. You can add as much or little depending on the size of your pot. 9. As an option, you can add a small piece of Kelp (Dasima) in to the water to give extra flavor to the broth. 10. Cook for 10 minutes in high heat so that it boils 11. Stir thoroughly and change the heat to medium heat. 12. Add the pieces of onions and green onions into the pot. 13. Add Soy sauce and Korean Plum extract as much as your taste buds desire! There is no set amount for this! 14. Cook for 10 minutes in low heat. 15. All Done!
