I designed my dream IKEA desk setup in Blender—then built it in real life. Using two KARLBY countertops, two ALEX drawers, four OLOV adjustable legs, and 4” mending plates, I created a minimal, functional workspace built to last. This video walks you through the entire process—from 3D modeling to final assembly. 📐 Full IKEA Desk Build Steps: 1. Mark OLOV leg positions on the underside of the KARLBY. 2. Pre-drill shallow holes (use tape as a depth guide). 3. Screw OLOV mounting plates to the KARLBY with care. 4. Screw in 1"x 4” mending plates where the two KARLBYs meet (no center leg needed!). 5. Place ALEX units and mark where they contact the tabletop. 6. Pre-drill and use coarse-thread screws to secure the ALEX to the KARLBY. 7. Assemble ALEX drawers per IKEA instructions. 8. Adjust OLOV legs to match the ALEX height. 9. Mount OLOV legs to their plates. 10. Flip the desk with a friend and align it carefully. 11.
