#subscribe #HonSaney #share #like Janjaley, Wajir North – Residents of Janjaley village were filled with joy and pride as their long-held dream of having a school within their community inches closer to reality. Wajir North Member of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Saney, visited the village this week to inspect the ongoing construction of the first-ever classrooms in the area—marking a historic milestone for a community that has, for decades, lacked access to formal education infrastructure. Hon. Saney expressed his deep personal connection to the project, recounting his own experience growing up in Janjaley. “This is the very place I used to trek from, all the way to Korondile, which is about 15 kilometers away, just to attend school,” he said. “Today, witnessing classrooms being built right here is not just development—it is justice and a dream fulfilled for the people of Janjaley.” The MP lauded the local contractors and community members for their dedication in supporting the project and assured constituents of his continued commitment to expanding access to education across the region. Once complete, the new classrooms will serve as the foundation for the village’s first formal learning institution, giving local children the opportunity to access education close to home—something their parents never had. Community elders, parents, and youth leaders hailed the initiative as transformative, saying it would open doors for future generations and reduce dropout rates caused by long walking distances to schools in neighboring towns. As the walls of the new classrooms rise, so too does the hope and determination of the people of Janjaley to change the story of their village through education.
