On Tuesday evening, the first round of the 2023 Concerto Competition took place in the Bos River Room. Each boy had to perform a movement from a concerto in front of an audience that included two independent adjudicators for a chance to book their place in the final round. 14 students ranging from grade 7 up to grade 12 all performed extremely well and all boys can hold their heads high and be proud of their efforts. Adjudicators Mr Owen Clarke and Mr Nigel Bardsley from All Saints Anglican, provided the boys with some excellent feedback and insights into their performances and selected three boys to go through to the final. Congratulations goes to Benjamin Nichol (Year 9), Max Carr (Year 12) and Jin Li (Year 12) who were each selected to progress to the final round which takes place in Term 2 in the Annand Theatre. Each boy now gets the opportunity to perform a concerto in front of the TSS Symphony Orchestra. 0:00 Introduction 2:03 Jin Li (Piano) 8:45 Max Carr (Cello) 17:45 Ethan Standbridge (Trumpet) 23:30 Kyle Grassick (Violin) 28:00 Ethan Ho (Piano) 32:30 Fletch Reichman (Violin) 38:35 Benjamin Nichol (Violin) 44:10 Daniel Aloysius (Double Bass) 49:25 Cameron Clinton (Flute) 54:15 Ryan Clinton (Cello) 59:20 Jay Spowart (Violin) 1:04:10 Luke Hu (Cello) 1:10:05 Ray Zhai (Cello) 1:19:00 Jin Li (Viola)
