Lattice is an AUv3 midi drum groove generator for Mac, iPad and iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/app/lattice/id... Lattice is a cool app in some ways, but I definitely feel there could be some improvements made to the functionality and workflow, and I mention those as I walk through the app in this video. I hope you find it useful! Gav Ps: I'm adding in here a few things I wrote down before making the vid but forgot to mention as I was recording: No undo and redo - pity, would be useful, especially as a performance control. Also, I always feel that every app with a randomiser should have undo and redo. There's no way to adjust swing in the variations once you've populated the banks. I'd like the option. There's no way to adjust lane lengths after you've populated the banks! So once I've got a song going I have very few options for live tweaking unless I revert back to just using the live jam on the explore page. In the settings page, some things can apply only to the live sequence and don't affect the variations (lane trim for example), some things can apply to both (velocity trim). This is not clear from the ui. One of many slightly confusing, for me, ui decisions. Some of these settings I'd regard as performance controls more than settings. There's too much need to tab around the app at present, I'd rather have all performance controls on one page. There are design choices made in this app that get in the way, for me at least, of getting into a flow state. All that said, I do love some of the grooves this can do, especially on this kind of acoustic drums demoed in the video. Great potential, certainly usable at present, but it could be improved for sure. ❤️ The iOS music production niche is too small for me to make any significant money from YouTube ad revenue, folks, and that's unlikely to ever change much. I'm struggling financially as a result of committing so much time to this. So whether you're a dev or an app buyer, if you value this channel, if you'd miss it if I stopped, please help me keep it alive. Don't expect that other people will support, most won't.
