Filmed entirely on Saturday August 14, 2021. Our day begins at Lake State Railway's bridge over the Flint River where we catch LSRC southbound train Z127. After making a pick-up in Burton, and utterly sneaking up on us, we catch 127 at Grand Hall Road in Holly (my apologies for this messy shot), and one more time south of town at Buckhorn Lake Road. After learning of a Z388 BNSF empty coal train departing Essexville we head north to Saginaw for the intercept. Our first shot of 388 comes as it exits Saginaw yard and passes a small freight near Lapeer Ave. Next we catch the BNSF unit train crossing the Cass River in Bridgeport. After being stopped for multiple hot axles by the detector, we catch 388 at Birch Run crossing Main Street. At Coldwater Road over the north end of Flint Yard we catch a trio of LSRC SD40-2's working as Y110 rolls into view. The concluding shot is of the heavy CSX powered coal loads pulling hard passed the trio of LSRC SD's pushing hard underneath us. The crew on Y110 would tie down at this location and the yard job would finish shortly after. All in all, it was a hot time on Lake State Railway!! Special thanks to Colt Jeffries for sharing his vast wealth of LSRC knowledge, and to John Fry (John Fry Images) and Kenny Cook for the tremendous amount of comradery and fun that was had over this railfan heavy weekend. THANK YOU for watching!!
